1. Introduction
Codoha Ltd. ("Codoha," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Himari mobile application (the "App"). Codoha Ltd. is a limited company registered in Taiwan (R.O.C.), located at Rm. 5, 4 F., No. 8, Guomin 8th St., Hualien City, Hualien County 970015, Taiwan (R.O.C.). This policy explains how the App handles information.
2. The Short Version
The App collects no personal data and shares no personal data. It has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party tracking, and it creates no identifier for you, not even an anonymous one. Your progress stays on your device. The App contacts exactly one service, Google Play™, and only to check or complete a purchase.
3. Data We Collect
None. The App does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. We receive nothing from it, which also means we can identify nothing about you and cannot link any activity to a person or a device.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
Everything the App knows about you is held in one record in its own private storage on your device:
- Your course progress: which characters and words you have met, and when each is next due for review.
- Your settings, such as music and sound, the companion you chose, and whether English help is shown.
You can export that record to a file of your choosing at any time, and import it back. The export is yours and is never sent anywhere by the App.
This data is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data in Android settings. Because we never receive it, we cannot access, restore or delete it for you.
5. Purchases
The katakana course is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Google Play™. The purchase happens inside Google’s own payment sheet: the App never sees, receives or stores your name, your payment details or your Google account. What the App learns is a single yes or no, whether this device is entitled to the course, and it remembers that answer locally so the course keeps working offline. Google’s handling of a purchase is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, not by this one.
6. App Permissions
The App requests one permission and no others:
- Internet (INTERNET): so Google Play™ Billing can reach Google to complete or restore a purchase. Nothing else in the App uses the network. There is no server of ours to reach.
7. Device Backups
Android may include the App’s data in your device backup (for example to your own Google account) or copy it during a device-to-device transfer. These backups are managed by Android, controlled by you in your device settings, and are not accessible to Codoha.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children. Its target audience on Google Play™ is declared as 18 and over, and it teaches a second writing system to people who already read a first one. Since the App collects no personal data, no personal data of children is collected either.
9. Your Privacy Rights (EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland)
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, data protection laws such as the GDPR give you rights over your personal data, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection. Because the App processes your data exclusively on your own device and never transmits it to Codoha or anyone else, Codoha does not collect, store or otherwise process your personal data, and no international data transfers take place. You exercise these rights directly on your device: view your progress in the App, export it to a file you control, or erase it by clearing the App’s data in Android settings or uninstalling the App. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new date. Material changes will be highlighted in the App’s store listing or release notes.
